Well, as I've been alluding to for a LOOOOONG time now - boy do the months fly by quickly sometimes - I need a Radagast to lead my Good side "Creature" army. Who better than Radagast - but how to get a mounted model?

The blog has more details, but here's one of the shots of my progress so far...

Image

Blog (as always) has more for those of you who are interested, including a tiny bit of detail as to why he's part of my army (http://simbattleboard.blogspot.com.au/2 ... agast.html).

The stag/elk is a great idea! I bet he'll look amazing when he's been painted!

Great conversion! Very atmospheric.

It helps too that the stag is such a fantastic model. Where's it from?

Absolutely wicked! I never much cared for the Radagast model, but this may have changed my mind.

Thanks all =)
Sprayed him black today, so tomorrow (baby sleep willing) I'll try to get started on the painting.
The model is a pack of animals "ANI 01" from http://fenryll.fr
A pack of four creatures, the stag, a bear (which was actually going to be my first choice for the mount) a sabre-toothed cat thingy and a bird of some sort.

Well, I thought I knew a lot of mini makers, but I'd never heard of 'em. Good tip; they're nice models. The Lycan from the Animal range will make a nice balverine for my Fable project.

Looking forward to seeing how ol' Radagast turns out. The deer sounds far better than the bear: more gentle and Beorn has the bear angle covered in Middle-earth anyway. And much better than a toboggan pulled by giant rabbits!

Here's my first coat of paint on it (obviously some of the colours are yet to actually be coloured).

More pics of unmounted Radagast and mounted Radagast on the blog, but you'll get the idea from that pic.

And now the mounted version is almost done:

Image

Blog has more angles (and one fairly extreme close up) as well as shots of the unmounted version which now has the basic layer/wash but few highlights yet.

Looks excellent. The colours are great, especially the rusty brown of the stag vs Radagast's green and dun brown.
