I look at the detail on the Dark Vengeance plastics and am filled with optimism. GW can really do very fine plastics now, much more so than five years ago when MoM came out.

They've started releasing single heroes in plastic for Warhammer Fantasy which are as great. I'd love to see them move to that method for LotR rather than Finecast.

I agree, but there is a large difference in scale between the two lines of figures, which means that The Hobbit plastics will probably be better than the LoTR ones but I doubt there will be quite as much detail. Much less real estate.

Alas, I am a bit suspicious of said theories. People have been looking at the latest GW plastics for about 8 years now going: wow, look at these new plastics, can't wait till we see new LOTR plastics.

And each time, the LOTR plastics are the same old, same old. How-and-ever, I think there may be an impetus to do better this time. Least, I hope so.

On the One Ring.net it says that October 1st is the day when companies can start selling their Hobbit products. Hopefully we'll see something from GW very soon :)

I use it and I'm not Irish.

The employees at my local GW say to keep looking out for the Hobbit, and read the new White Dwarf's. (starting with next month's)

I think LOTR plastics have improved vastly overtime. Compare the old wood elves to the new Morgul Knights. Or the Mordor orcs to the Morannon Orcs.

The only thing LotR related in the new White Dwarf is a showcase of some Rangers and a picture of Gandalf. No words on it though. :?

Looking at the other new Hobbit models thread there is a potential photo of the Radagast mini.

The story is that someone received it in the limited edition 40K boxed set instead of the Chaplain. If it is true it could mean there will be a limited edition Hobbit boxed set with Radagast.

Where you got this story from? It would mean the don't use finecast (at least not for all heroes), that would be great news for me.

Is there a way to translate the Russian to English? We can't view the picture links unless we sign up is what I'm guessing.
