Being a Dwarf player, I am really curious to see how it turns out.

here are three little sketches of some fronts of the dwarven houses, could you comment your preferences, and or things you would change. my preference lies with the last one.
here it is on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/91408593@N ... /lightbox/

A very promising project!

My preference is no3 aswell, seems like the most dwarfish of three, though I do like the "rune shaped" pattern above the door of sketch no1.

Can't wait to see how it will turn out!
Cheers,
Fotis

for the houses I went with the third option whitch I like most.
further I have made a box for the terrain and just put some styrofoam in it.
the photos:
one of the houses: http://www.flickr.com/photos/91408593@N ... /lightbox/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/91408593@N ... /lightbox/
overview of the box with styro:

hi all,
sorry for the long time to this update.
here are some photos of the first front fully painted with patterns and all.

some overview shots with both faces and parts with styro

that were all the pictures, but I still have a question: Why doesnt this topic work well , Im almost the only one who comments. is that because my stuff is not good enough or not interesting enough, or is it the frequency of updates that is wrong.
please reply,

martijn

Nothing is wrong, its a fine WiP 8) . For me the reason I haven't commented so far is that I've never really thought how dwarven houses would work and I've never really been able to visualize them so I wasn't really sure what to comment on. I do really think it's a very interesting and well done project :yay: 8) I specially like the inclusion of some water, I always find there is a distinct lack of water in most terrain...

It is a very neat project, well done. sorry I haven't commented before...

Looking good so far!
The painted pattern could use a some touch ups, but as I'm trying myself to do some "flower/tribal pattern" on some scenery I struggle with it as well 8)

I think mainly it's because you don't embed (is this the right word?) direct the pictures in the thread and you post links of them. Most people are lazy to check the links one by one I guess.
So get the direct links for your pics and use "(img)(/img)" thingie to post them.
If you have any trouble with that there's a guide somewhere I think..

Anyway, keep up the good work and comments and bravos and critism and fame and money (ok, I'm getting a bit carried away  ) will come 8)

Awesome! Love the idea. I've never given much thought to Dwarven villages or houses, but these ones seem very plausible and believable! I think they are pretty much in keeping with the book and I might need to steal your idea. ;)

Looks good, nice design, I really think it's in keeping with the source material.

What's the material you use in the earlier pictures for the dwarf houses?

I think the problem is people quickly scroll down your thread and don't see any pictures so they navigate away again. I for one am very lazy like that. May I ask why you choose to post urls intead of imgs? I think you would get more comments if the actual photos appeared in your posts.

It is coming along nicely though I must say 8)
