Thorongil? - New Aragorn model!

IMHO GW never show future release like this, so maybe as someone mentioned earlier, just a practice model, put on display to get people like us talking about it.

It is possibly a partial conversioon, partial scratch-sculpting.
Mortenson will not be in the Hobbit.

And like Mr Freddybear, I don't know why you are excited about yet another Aragorn. It's not like you need any more guys and girls.

we do not have a single figure of him as Thorongil, so yes we have a right to be excited, especially when its a new version that would have a different stat line and be used differently than any before.

I think the sarcasm in my post has been missed. I actually think we have too many Aragorn models as it is. There are plenty of minis that we don't have that I would have liked to have seen before this.

There is a "young Aragorn" on the "Unreleased" list and has been for a very long time - this is probably it so the chances are we may never get it.

I'd say the fact that he doesn't much look like Viggo means that even if he is released, he'll be part of that demi monde of models, such as Gildor, Balin and so forth, who are not part of the movie designs, but GW "interpret" them instead. Sometimes these interpretative models have movie-inspired equipment (eg, later, armoured Elladan and Elrohir), and some don't (earlier Glorfindel).

As for Appendix A, it needs to be nailed somewhere, but Appendix A is considered part of the "LOTR book license" that everyone, eventually, buys.

Its a list of miniatures that myself and other collectors have compiled over the years made up of unreleased miniatures from the lotr range.

Uruk Hai scout Captain with 2 handed axe
White Numenorean
Orc Drummer
Beruthiel
Barrow Wights X 2
Cave Troll
Young Aragorn
Morgul Stalker
Elf Banner bearer
Wood elf captain with spear

There are probably more but there is an Aragorn on there tho i can't confirm 100% the one pictured is this unreleased version i suspect it might be. Just my opinion.

I think you missed HIS point.

He meant to say he, as you do, doesn't understand why someone would be that excited over yet another aragorn.
