just some photos of my latest WIP...

Glorfindel (Haldir model) for the April painting challenge...not finished yet, needs glazing, basing a bit more work on the face and cloak and belts and other details doing...

Minas Tirith Gandalf, imo a very nice looking figure, yet very hard to paint due to all the white, he is not finished either... I undercoated gandalf brown, then built up layers with white and did a few thin washes of kommando khaki, shadowfax has a grey undercoat but has been coated with many layers of white and grey washes...Some better pictures are probably required.

Once the top two are done I will probably be painting my converted Elladan and Elrhoir, the one bladed figure probably needs a new blade as green stuff seems to bend a fair bit when making swords, I was considering slanting his arm backwards more so he looked like he was more in the action, anybody else got any suggestions on how to make him look a bit more aggressive?

Finally my 7 Ringwraiths, they are still in progress and need some finishing off + basing done to them, the betrayer requires painting and I am finally getting the Dwimmerlaik next week to complete the collection!

Really suggest making it smaller - it's a pain in the ass to view them very well. It's nice to see all the details - but i prefer to be able to see the model completely.
But really nice paintwork on Gandalf.

my next project is making and painting up a Pelennor Aragorn.
I bought an aragorn the king and fellowship aragorn off ebay and decided to do a simple arm swap.
(the blu tac is simply for a quick reference about the positioning of Aragorn's arms- green stuff will be used when a decision is made).
I still need to decide how to position his arms, I can cut narsil at the hilt to reposition it to look a bit more realistic on certain poses.

A) I have an aragorn the king pose- sword behind head ready to strike.

B) A Death of Gothmog Aragorn pose- a figure which I've thought looks great for a long time.

C) a kind of elendil static pose with sword in front of him.

D) or a mixture of the two listed above.

Additionally I will be giving him an elven cloak made of green stuff and need to decide whether to leave his bow, quiver bedroll etc. on his back or remove it?

any suggestions would be great :)

Having got the Easterling Kataphrakts for Christmas I have made 2 dragon Knights, Khamal and a banner bearer with the set, leaving 2 left for trading. The set is great due to how much you can customise each figure, also the detail is better than previous sets, I also found using acrylic paint works well on plastics as it's cheaper and leaves a thinner layer than chaos black paint.
I also got a sulladan recently which i'm turning into a mtd taskmaster for my serpent riders army.
More images to follow soon...

Nice of you to return on my birthday.

The pictures are tiny but from what I can see the Easterling armour looks very good. I think something went wrong with the cloak though but it is hard to tell.
