Thermo's WIP (rohan/grey company)

Thanks Elrond! Making slow progress but I'll get some pics up now. Now the greens are on the rangers, moving onto the browns (which won't take as long) then grey, flesh and metals before the wash. Should have that done by bedtime tonight hopefully!

EFGT that I ordered for my friend (although I'm paying him £20 for the good models) So expect a WIP from me on them in the future! An Orcrist AND Oakshield conversion me'thinks...

And a pic of the green on the second batch of rangers... not alot to see yet so wait out for better pics...

Looks promising, have you used two different colours for cloaks, it looks it?

Haha, down the line perhaps! He's same as me, NEVER played before. I convinced him to get involved as he likes LOTR and the Hobbit and is into LEGO.

I'm not sure he'll have Goblins done by Thursday but could get him involved nonetheless?

Thanks Gothmog! Yeah, I do half with Caliban cloaks and half with The Fang. Makes the unit look slightly more like a collection of individuals... so I hope!

With us all bein beginners mate might be an idea he pops along to pick the rules up.....
Id prefer to play against painted models but I wouldn't insist on it

Yeah, I'll invite him down, he's training tomorrow morning so will ask him then.

Definitely time for bed but this is where I'm up to tonight!

I have 9 more rangers to add dawnstone to, then flesh the faces and hands. All should be ready for washes then!

What do you use to highlight Caliban green and the fang?

Also, what do you wash the dawn stone with, Nuln oil?

Anyway, I love these so far.

Finished base colours and shading the second warband of Rangers of Arnors along with 3 Rangers of the North... I'll let them dry then highlights then base!

Just mixed 50:50 with white last time! And been using agrax earthshade then going over the greys with nuln oil.

So with the second warband of Rangers drying from their wash, I started applying the bronzes to my rohirrim.

Their redshields are next, followed by their blonde hair, before they get a wash of their own!

Love seeing that grey co. Especially through the trees and scenery. The riders are coming along nicely so far mate.
