Very impressive indeed.

I'm tempted to tidy a few up with green stuff to use as Helmingas as the command group as so much bigger than standard WoR.

Hi,

@ janner: sounds great! They fit very well...you could also use them as Grimbold's helmingas, they almost look exactly the same! You would jest need too add rohanish shields and fill all the cracks-go for it!

I have to agree! Very nice freehand! Quite viking-ish, but suiting him well!

Hi,

finished my Dunlending captain, which I converted from the regular miniature plus the head of a wildmen! I didn't like the captain's head that much...

I also did some work on the banner, I consider it know as finished, I'll paint the rest of the mini tomorrow:

Please let me know what you think! The banner was my first real freehand (I've only painted white hands before) and was inspired by a celtic style dog drawing I found on google. ;)

The scalemail on the captain looks great. Is it done using metallics ?

I like what you've done with the banner

Brilliant Dunelendings!
How do you get all your work looking so fantabulously smooth? Is there a special technique you use?

Hi,

thanks Sid and DMS!

@Sid: I use a wetpalette, which helps me greatly, because I paint with rather diluted paints. Also I never use paints straight from the pot, a lot of the tones you see are mixed by using some paint of a permanent palette of colours which I use on almost everything! In all the highlights there is Vallejo iraqi sand for example ;) This gives a very coherent "style".

Wow, these are really nice. The banner free-hand is superb for your first 'real' try. :yay: I've also heard of your technique before, but using bleached bone rather than the iraqi sand colour.
