very nice work here, but how the hell did you get that from a neon green base?

I went neon green as I always intended to do multiple coats. The idea being that there will be a hint of green to show through as the coats would be very diluted.
So my method - first the neon green was equal snot green, bad moon yellow, skull white. I highlighted this once with more skull white.
Next was a thin coat of rotting flesh.
Then a coat of bleached bone continuing to the high spots.
Now skull white on the very high spots.
The shading was done in a series of thinned washes / glazes using
Gryphonnia sephia,Devlan mud, Baal red, liche purple, thraka green, Badab black. I then reapplied more skull white.

I agree, I will look to adding a few touches about the inside of the tail and maybe a little more here and there.

My hope is they will regret their initial foolery......

So my marshmallow pink dragon has taken a chameleon like change. The scales have been done to something I think I'm pleased. I have gone for a couple of different colour in the armour as I felt this would look better than one colour the same.

This just leaves the legs, face and spikey bits to do.

Thanks fellas. Looking at it again I feel there isn't enough shading. Some more at the back of the neck and behind the front legs is needed. I also think a touch more green scales n top of some of the blue scales to reduce the amount of blue. The green blue scales on the hind quarter on the middle picture need reworking. They look naff.
I initially thought of adding some Chainmail to the underbelly to give it a silvery sort of look but in the end I went against that idea as I opted for the dirtier look which I think is a better affect for a cave dweller. I may save that idea for something else in the future.
The hair or whatever it is at the back of the head I'm thinking of blending from purple to the off white / green at the tips, if that will work ?

I bought some glaze medium and have my first proper go at blending. I worked mainly on the four strands of hair / whatever they are from the back of the head. I worked this from purple to white and want to know how it stands to the test.
I seriously want constructive feedback / criticism - call it what you wish but it's my desire to improve which makes the feedback very important. You cannot be too critical - honest.

Looks quite good. You could blend in some darker purple as it gets closer to his head though. As it stands right now, the pure purple colour takes up about two-thirds of the thing. I think you need to make about half of that into a darker purple. :)

Hope that helps.

Thanks Avenger and I figured it could have been heading that way. I've gone a touch darker as suggested however I've noticed the photo is about a shade or so lighter than the actual figure.
I've taken the below photo at a different light angle and it seems to give a truer reflection.

That beasty is looking great so far :yay:
Truth be told, when you said it'd be pink I was a tad unsure but you have certainly proved me wrong. :yay:

I also really like that you've put little patches of non-pink every here and there. Very effective.
I think all the transitions from pink to that creamy colour look very nice, especially on the 4 'hair' bits (what are those things??)

Well done! 8) :yay:

Thanks everyone, it's nice to know this somewhat unusual plan has paid off.
The different colour patches was a moment of inspiration that I hadn't planned but delighted I thought of it.
I've been trying with the young one and I think this will be a similar colour. The brown just isn't working.

It's the kind of model that makes me think, "I would hate to be 28mm and have to face off against that thing!"

A unique colour scheme superbly executed :yay:
