Did you wonder where Narzug was in the first Hobbit film?
Well.. chances are good we get to see him in the second one!
I just had the luck to watch the Sneak Preview Event for the Desolation of Shhhmaug and..

there was a scene of footage where Tauriel and Legoals interrogate and kill a captured orc. And that particular orc looked very much like the very Narzug!

I guess when the hobbit was going to be 2 films, Narzug would have been part of the first one, but when it was made into 3 he got pushed to the 2nd one. so your theory is probably correct.
