Started a very hard and and overly complicated conversion on the new white council Elrond as his pose was pretty dull to be honest, he has been given a sword, shoulder and wrist armor so far and tomorrow I am going to give him a shield and body armor.
The scult is great quality, the face in particular which is unusual for finecast, I will upload better photos when I get further into his conversion.

YOu have my respect for trying such kind of conversion. (Especially on a mini of this price! ;) )Looking forward to seeing your results!

thanks :) was certainly nervous about getting it right because as you said it is so valuable, I was going to do just a minor, low risk conversion but then I got a bit carried away!
I added armor like elrond's in the hobbit which took forever! and a belt and lower body armor also, it's quite hard to tell what is what at the moment but im hoping that it will look a bit more neat when it is undercoated.
He now just needs his shield which will be put on after painting...

Well...I don't want to be too harsh, but you really should have practized green stuffing on a less expensive miniature. It all looks very rough-I would suggest that you keep a wet sponge close to always wet the sculpting tool, that is the most fundamental thing about sculpting! Also I would suggest some seroius practice on inexpensive thing such as mordor orcs to get a feel for the sculpting! I think your mix isn't quite right either, on the shoulders the Green stuff looks very yellowish! Try to always keep it 50/50 blue and yellow, or a bit more blue.

I don't think paint can fix that, you'd have been safer just converting the Elrond that is already armored and on foot. There's so much detail on the one I have I know not a pro could replicate it. Kudos for trying I guess. Keep trying but like gunslinger said try on cheaper figures first.

Thanks for the feedback, I was going for the armor elrond has on the hobbit though where sections go under each other at different angles, perhaps it could of been done a bit more neatly however, the lower body armour in particular...
Here are pics of the finished piece, overall I was happy with the result as the previous sculpt I got from a cheap white council set on ebay was so dull and now I had an armored version.

Doesn't look bad, but i can't say much because the pics are terribly small. Sorry.

Here is my latest project and entry to the july painting challenge...

A lot of work was done with green stuff which took a ton of time and effort...I'm very happy with the result- the pictures don't really look as good as the real thing...

I think I might just make this because it looks awesome and have it on display. Great stuff!

Awesome Lurtz! Great idea and nice conversion. If I only had a spare Lurtz instead of that Boromir guy. :)
Great idea. :)

thanks for all the positive feedback! I will try to make the images bigger in the future. If you are planning to make something similar, an uruk hai, plastic warg and some green stuff may do the job quite nicely.

Nice! Reminds me of my uruk-hai captain on warg, but with much more and better sculpting!

Cool. Reminds me of this: I recently bought the minis to replicate it but am just too busy at the minute.

Can I ask what sculpting tools you are using?
