New FAQ! Huzzah! The answer:

Bow Limits
Q: If my force comprises warbands from army lists that feature unusual Bow Limits (such as Azogʼs Hunters, Harad & Umbar and the Eastern Kingdoms, with a 50% Bow Limit; or Rohan and Elrondʼs Household that feature Warriors who ignore the Bow Limit), and pick the remaining warbands from another army list, how will this affect my overall Bow Limit? (p100)
A: In this situation, half of the Warriors in your Azogʼs Hunters, Harad & Umbar and the Eastern Kingdoms warbands (according to the army list) can be armed with bows, and a third (rounding up) of the remaining Warriors in your force can be armed with bows. In the case of the Rivendell Knights and Riders of Rohan, simply ignore them entirely for the purposes of determining Bow Limits, so a third (rounding up) of the remaining Warriors in your force can be armed with bows.

So there we have it. Half of the warriors. It's what we thought it meant. So if you have six wargs in a unit, you can have all the remaining hunter orcs armed with bows. Khorne be praised...

Now to find a decent Bitz place to get spare bows...

But wargs arent warriors. They are wargs. What is it you are suggesting?

SBG divides your models into Heroes and Warriors. Wargs are Warriors.

That's like saying orcs aren't warriors, they're orcs. As stated, all models are either Warriors or Heros.

Yes i should have said wargs are not hunter orcs. The rule talks about hunter orcs being led by x having a 50% ruling. Not all the warriors (be they man or beast) in the army but then it talk about warbands so maybe I'm confused. I always thought the spirit of these rulings was to match what comes in the box.

The rule, as explained in the FAQ, is that Azog's Hunter's can have 50% bows. Plain and simple.

Except Hunter Orcs only have a third armed with bows anyway, so that clearly wasn't the aim of the ruling!

As Drauglin says. The FAQ is quite clear. 50% of the Warriors in an Azog's Hunter's warbands may be armed with bows, whether that be made up of orcs, wargs, or a mix.
