Variags of Khand Paint Schemes Requested.

I have a pretty much comprehensive collection of the LOTR miniatures by citadel. The one group of miniatures that remains entirely unpainted are my small group of Khandish Variags. Does anyone have any finished miniatures out there that may give me some inspiration to paint them. So far I have no orange or yellow armies or units, but would like the paint scheme to have a historical realism to it. I suspect that looking at Samurai/Mongol armour from museum collections online may be the way forward? If anyone has any painted Khand, it would be good to see them?

Here's mine. Scroll through all 4 pages to get pics of various Khand minis. Colour scheme obviously not to everyone's liking - and certainly not historically orientated! Might find something you like.

Never been a fan of the khandish miniatures. I had plenty of chances to pick up box sets of them at discount prices but I always skip out on them. Doesn't surprise me Bilbo that you left them alone all this time unpainted, I find that they don't inspire much. I blame it on the bath robes they wear over their armour.

It was only fairly recently that I bought them from an independent stockist as the metal boxed sets were still £20 each, the guy sells more fishing gear than models. Until now I had avoided them as their horsemen and foot troops seemed a bit average on the stat line, with no special rules. I have however mounted a captain on a chariot that should hopefully be useful!

Fantastic, I like the alternative spin on Ring Wraith Colours! Grass Green is my favourite colour, I have not yet painted any evil in green, but a darker eerier green could be effective. There has been a pretty high standard for me to keep up with here, I just hope that when I finish I can keep the torch burning as bright!
