An update of where I am with the parlour window. My next step will be moulding bricks and stones around each little window and about the base line and the folded parts.
Time is the main issue at present, but at least it's moving forward.

It looks wonderful and is a nice teaser for the finished piece! Take your time Gandlaf and I am sure we'll see (one of ?) the best hobbit holes that was ever made in tabletop scale ;)

Done a search for those stickers for you and came up nothing. It was a 'art & crafts' store that I got them from. Best bet is to find your local arts and craft store and ask for decorative stickers

Rognarr - very nice of you to say. This is one job I wont be rushing and to be honest I dont think I will finish it this year. Normal life only allows a handful of free hours each week but one thing for sure is I wont stop until finished. Im taking a little time out to do the Jult paint challenge but also using the base to test out a some things I haven't tried before.

Brian - Thats very kind of you to search for me. I've searched relentlessly to no avail so I think I will be trying some handmade stuff and see how that ends up looking. Im sure it wont be a total loss but I will give it a go. Thanks again.

Wow, this is fantastic! I really love the attention to detail, the whole Hobbit hole looks amazingly realistic! :yay:

I am constantly gobsmacked by the attention to detail that is apparent in so many of the terrain & diorama projects.
I had a rummage - what about these: http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Doo ... _1_76.html

A quick update with where I am. The parlour window is taking shape though there is still plenty to do.
The central arch I am not 100% happy with though it will be covered partly with vegetation on completion, so maybe that isn't such an issue.
I've source some tubing to fit as a frame inside the round windows. One they arrive then I will try it out.
Then it will be some paint to make it almost done. The leaded lights I will leave for the moment as I want all the windows making and setting out on the diorama first. If I need to drop a window or two I would prefer to have not spent too much time creating the leaded lights.
I've found some concept art on the back door so that may be my next piece.

Come along very nicely, the brick work looks perfect, will the tubing form the frame of the window?

Thanks Paul, that's the idea though I will see how it looks before committing. It will also help clean up the raggy edges that are there at present.

The Window looks good. What kind of tubing did you decide on for the window frames?

I've found some styrene tubing 6.3mm round with a 5mm internal diameter. This should be ok for the windows next to the front door. I've made the round parlour widows 8mm so I will see what it looks like with a filler piece added to the framework. All the 8mm stuff I've seen has an internal diameter that's too small.
It all may look rubbish but it's worth a try.

I have used PVC and plastic tubing but it is not to scale. I have used thin walled brass tubing and scrap copper water pipe too. I like the metal but it requires a tubing cutter.

What did you think about the static grass applicator link? I have one. So I have not tried to make one.

I've also got a applicator but it looks a good idea. If I'm ever at a loss I will have a bash at it.
I've just found some 8mm plastic tube with a 1mm wall. I've ordered that for the round parlour windows.

Though Alexandra is clearly not all she is making out to be. It may be the thick fingers and overly high pitched voice.....
