So just recently I've seen a couple pictures of Elijah Wood in makeup as Frodo if he kept the ring. Is this leaked from The Hobbit production, or just something they did

No they are from The Lord of the Rings, it is cut from it thought.
They where from a vision that Faramir had.

In the documentaries on the Two Towers extended edition DVDs, this scene is referenced. It was filmed but not included in the movies (I don't remember exactly why). PJ filmed a scene where Faramir saw Frodo's fate if he were to keep the ring and succumb to its corruption; Frodo is portrayed as very Gollum-like which required putting Wood in a little of make-up, etc. Kind of interesting, but not filmed for the Hobbit.

Yeah that was featured on one of the appendices discs in the four disc version of The Two Towers. When Sam rants at Faramir about what the ring is doing to Frodo and how it turned his brother Boromir mad. That's where it was going to go.
