An interesting read, kind of suprised they did the whole "leaked image" thing a second time after being told not to do so before. Not smart.
Ultimately I'm always sad to see any hurt done to smaller companies for reasons that (to myself) do not make much sense as there is not even significant financial losses for the larger corperation. Much like around here when Dr. Pepper/Snapple sued the creating company of Dr Pepper (the Dublin Dr Pepper company) and shut them down.

I truly don't understand GW. I respect their right to protect their intellectual property and fully excpect them to do so when it is being infringed upon. But surely this can only hurt their sales?

I thought that too. I don't get it.

I would understand if they were slating the GW products. But when a third party is actively promoting your wares, it makes little sense to cut them off. Free advertising the way I see it.
The trouble is, GW really believe they are the entire industry, and that people tune in to BoW just to see the GW products, so any advertisement/promotion in the same show of a mini from a range(Wayland) other than their own is simply not on in their eyes. They see it as piggybacking on their success.

All I am saying on the subject is that the behaviour of GW reminds me of a song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aItpjF5vXc
BOW have done hundreds of hours of videos on GW games and products. Many of the team and their associates play the games or paint and/or customise the minis. Most companies would be over the moon for that sort of coverage.

I think Dave is on the money here... BoW display products from other companies along side GW's products, and GW do not seem to want their customers to be aware of rival manufacturers. Fits with the rest of their marketing strategy.

I think it's sad, but that's how they want to play the game.

It won't affect us here since we do not have any affiliations with retail outlets or manufacturers.
