Just wanted to check a couple of points.
Do ranged weapons such as throwing knives/spears/crossbows contribute to your bow limit?

Also, if a model is armed with any of the above and is in base contact with a friendly model, can he still shoot just like a bowman can?

1. No, throwing weapons don't, but crossbows and all other bows do.
2. Yes, if you mean shooting over the shoulder.

Probably doesn't need clarifying, but … the friendly model can't be in combat.

Probably does need clarifying because I would have to disagree. As long as the shot is not going through an enemy in combat there's nothing wrong with your friend being in combat and you using his shoulder.

I would tend to agree with blackmist. You can ignore the friendly model that is in combat, but not the whole combat. So if the enemy who is in contact with the guy whose shoulder you are using is in the way, then the whole combat is in the way.

Too true. I was thinking that you can't shoot into the combat your friendly model is in just because you're in contact…I see my "clarification" only muddied the waters :)
