Shade

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone with the Moria and Angmar Sourcebook could help me out here. I was jsut wondering if a shade is a Warrior, Hero or Independent Hero. I know many of you guys will probably be cliche and tell me to get the book but I just wanted to add a Shade to my Mordor Force and can't really be stuffed getting the book for just one mini.

Also 1 other question: What happens to Monsters and the Warband rules? Can they be in a Warband by themselves or must the be led by a Hero?

You're right, most people won't casually give out the rules. There's a lot of reasons why (principle, forum rules, etc) but in this instance mine is due to the way you've gone about asking it.

Simply put, if you want something then ask nicely. Don't work to offend the people who might offer you help. Especially those people who 'could be stuffed' to go out and buy the sourcebook just for that one model.

Yeah, OK. Sorry KnightyKnight. I see your point. I am just kind of sick of people repeating over and over again for me to get the book. I mean, if you're not going to help please don't comment...

He's a hero, but one with really important special rules, so you'll need either the army builder or the sourcebook to make the most of him. Also don't worry, i doubt you actually offended anyone.

Lonely Knight made a briliant army builder that might fix similar problems in the future

I have tried many times to use this army builder in the past but I can't get it to work...

What program are you using to open it? I use open office and it had trouble utilizing it, and my friend with a Mac computer said he was having trouble as well.

However with my home computer using 2003 Excel I have no problems.

I have successfully opened it with Excel 2010 but when it opens the whole screen is just full of code.... The page where you download it says there is a help bit in the file but I can't find it either...

Just a general rule. If a model has even a single point of Might, Will or Fate it is always a Hero. You can work out the Shade from that alone.

i can help with the monster question. ok monsters come in both hero's and worrior's. the monster (eg cave troll:) has to be in a war band but the balrog doesn't.

My point was that you said you already had the rules & profile for a Shade and just wanted to know whether it was a Hero or Warrior. If you had the profile, you would know that it is a Hero because of his stats. Simple logic solves many a problem with this hobby.
