To make a long story short, I'm not really into LotR but I have decided to build up a collection as I love many of the miniatures (Who doesn't love the Perry brothers?) and the death of specialist games worry me...

I have recently bought up two small stores lotr stock (with a nice bulk discount ofc ) And I'm in the process of categorize the stuff into the "Stuff I personally want", "Stuff I can trade for stuff I want" and "Stuff that might be worth saving for the resale value later on".

Problem is, I dont know what people want! I'm mostly interested in the evil faction myself so I'm sitting on a whole lot of Good faction stuff I dont know what to do with.

Can you give a list of exactly what you have?

I'd get a list together of the miniatures you don't want to keep and throw it up on the trade forum.

If nothing bites after a while you could try eBay?

I had a trade post here, but it's currently messed up after a failed edit (will put a new one after I have categorized more stuff). But it's a bit hard to give fair trade/proposals when you dont know the relative value of stuff. Also I'm hoping to save some of the more valuable/wanted stuff and sell in a later date in hope of recouping some of the loss I have taken.

I'm currently testing ebay with a Defenders of Rohan box, but as I'm in Sweden shipping I fear shipping costs are going to scare away people.

Come on , keep going its at £101.99 + £6.00 Postage and packaging , i want it to go for over £125 . I am talking about the Defender's of Rohan box you have on ebay by the way.

As far as I know, there isn't really a general batch that people want, apart from the Hobbit range. Haradrim are being sold off left right and center, so I wouldn't expect too much from them. Basically any troops which were available for a long time have lost a large amount of value (there just isn't demand as most people have them).

Most metals have held a pretty good price so your options would be in this area. Khandish troops often get up near retail and are probably the best in your list. Everything else in the list is hit and miss, but you have a fairly good spread of minis there, so If you do get rid of them, you should be getting an ok price.

Dwarves are decreasing in value over the past months, seems like more people are picking them up. As the range expands with Hobbit minis, I would expect this trend to continue. In summary, things which are of the the main factions (Moria, Gondor, Rohan, Mordor) are generally the lowest value as they have been around the longest (with the exception of the newer models - check out the GW website for a rough idea as older stuff is not listed on there as much).
