Who said cheese is unhealthy? Full of very important amino acids and other goodness 8) It's what you you eat it with and how much which is important ;)

Anyhow, back to topic! Shame you can't make it Origami, but we'll do another in future and you can try out your trolls there :)

Pure trolls.... cheese.... that whole connection.
I feel like I have stepped into an episode of Father Ted.
I like the notion of a larger clan of trolls banding together or being 'persuaded' by The Dark Lord to go and cause trouble somewhere. It would be fun playing with them and against them - something that could be tried out a few times to see if different scenarios or army sizes play out better or worse.
After all, finding out these things is all part of the fun of the hobby :)

Afterthought: what if the three trolls had turned into cheese instead of stone?

I've run a pure troll list in SBG a few times now (see image below for army)

Although I've run them with both chains and spears, you may as well not bother. The 5+ to hit is crippling - in the 2-3 games I've played in an all troll list, I've hit once or twice with the troll chain, and maybe once with stones. If you have to, only get two chains at most, and have them right at the very front of the army.

I work with;

Buhrdur
Cave trolls x 5

This gives a nicely sized army. Buhrdur is great in combat, lending his might where needed. The other trolls are also worth their points, especially with the new monster rules. Barge is effectively a good way to 'rescue' a fellow model in another combat, rend is excellent at decimating enemy heroes, and hurl is just plain fun, and super effective at lower defence troops.

A great combo is to start off with a hurl, and with a troll nearby, call barge. The troll can then leap onto the models who have been knocked prone, landing double strikes. I believe I pulled that off against Harfoot the other week?

Carrying on from Ellorindar's post I made this topic a few months ago - may be worth a read into how to play monster armies and let them take anything on:

Thanks everyone for the support. This started off as just a random idea that I thought couldn't possibly work.
You have all encouraged me to go for it and I want to thank you. I am actually getting my first troll this week so this list nay become a reality sooner than I thought :)

I'll start off by getting the cave troll this week through a trade.
Then I'll get Burhdur to lead him.
Then I'll aim for at least 3 more cave trolls and then a mordor troll chief to ally in.

Get Burdhur immediately, wouldn't surprise me if he went OOP soon!

I ordered Bhurdur before Christmas and he still hasn't come!
Trolls are fun to use though, but I've never used more than 2 in a force before. Was hoping to do a pure trolls/ trolls + ring wraith list.
