Honestly the best hunter orcs i've seen! I love the spotty skin!

Awesome Hunter Orcs! I love the multi-colored Wargs and the banner conversion is great. I am impressed!

Those are really awesome! I think once I'm done my current project (70-some Goblins) I'll get to my Hunter Orcs, mounted Hunter Orcs and Wargs. Thanks for the inspiration!

Azog is finished.

I've been very busy with the range of Hobbit models recently. In the past month I've painted a Mirkwood ranger (intention is to have a war band of these), the trolls and their campfire, 6 Hunter Orcs on Fell Wargs including the fatalities that come in the box set and Azog the Defiler. The impressive thing (if I do say so myself) is the hobby community made up of you guys have been asking me for tutorials and I've been created detailed photo tutorials for the models I've listed above.

I've compiled a blog post of all the Hobbit tutorials I've created. It's probably my greatest body of work I've ever done for the Hobby and I'm quite proud of it. It's completely free and I've done it because of my love for the hobby.

It's a piece of garden slate chip to make the rock. I used Stirland Mud texture paint on the base drybrushed with Baneblade brown. Two different greens of static grass and some model railway green lichen/scrub.

Ah I was mainly curious on the slate cos I dont know if people use actual slate. I have some slate but it's giant and way too big for gaming (takes up an entire cavalry base so it's pretty dull), was wondering if you used an alternative thing maybe a small piece of wood or how you broke up a larger piece.

Wrap slate in a cloth, place on a concrete floor outside and hit it with a hammer. You now have base sized slate chips.

I use cork a lot too. Here's a non-hobbit example I painted. I buy cork placemats from IKEA for £1.

Cork can make a great substitute for rocks. It is light and easily worked with, and pretty cheap really.
The White Warg is fantastic. You have managed to hint at the dark stripes on her inner pelt beneath the outer, longer coat - a lot of people miss that. It makes for more depth and interest. She looks so wicked!
Must get a nosey at the tutorials when I have a chance. The Hunters look fantastic.

Wow, I wish I was as productive as you, how you paint so many models to so a high standard is beyond me. Your work is really excellent and very inspiring, I'll be following this WIP closely!

That is an awesome Azog. I wish GW had made a better model of him (larger would be nice) but you definitely bring back the fierceness he requires.
