Can this be done or is it illegal? I was thinking i could cut up the sprues and make with into wood steaks to act as pikes if I ever do Easterlings. I'm 90% on the can have both side but just want to make sure.

Pretty sure they can. Unless they're listed in the rulebook as a special wargear item that you can't take with other wargear options but I doubt that.

No you can just like spears and bows. It will cost you though. If I were you Id put more money(pts) into pikemen and heros instead of bows.....theyre so weak for any but elves and arnor.

Note that Easterlings do not have proper 'Pikes' per say, only spears which can be used as pikes is they are behind another model with a spear.
If they had pikes that could not take a bow, as a pike requires both hands to use. But as it stand, yes you're fine to take both. :)

Nah, their spears are now pikes as of the fallen realms sourcebook, with phalanx allowing them to take shields as well. So no bows as far as I am aware.
