Mazarbul original idea.

Small column Hall

My original idea was to build around the 4'X4" floor tiles. The ZuZZy mat will give me more options. I am going to build a back drop wall with bricks and columns on one side and blasted rock on the other. I should be able to swap detail and have more option with out using up all my space.

These things evolve. The hall project will take some time because I need good weather to cast. I am making some detail molds so that part will go faster.
The seat project is about to enter the next stage.

I need to study the published scenarios and make sure that I have enough room.

Good to see it all together like that. Have you though about giving a bonus to warriors using the stairs? or a disadvantage if they don't like slipping?

The assembled board looks fantastic! I'm excited to see it looking so close to finished.

Thanks

This is more of an example of combing existing terrain in to a playable scenario. I need to work out the slope so that figures can stand. I have to decide how far the seeing seat is from the stair.

I had some scrap plywood already 3' long. I cut two 5" risers. I set it out to work out the slope. I am afraid I had to stop for a while. I am not back to normal. I will read for awhile.

This gets better and better and it is such a shame your back is deciding now's the time to play you up. If only I was nearby, we would soon have this beast licked.

Wow, awesome! It's great to see this taking shape. :)
The amount of detail is staggering, and the texture are just perfect.

I do not want to cut the foam in the game room it will make too much dust and mess.I will make measurements and mark it up. it should be warm enough tomorrow to cut the foam in the garage with the door open.

I think I have enough of the road sections cast already.

I am really looking forward to see Celevue's interpretation of the battle.

When I am satisfied the figures can stand I will finish the surface. The foam is held together with nails so that I can shape it with a Bondo grader.

Image

I have to shape the top section and two more levels on the bottom. The section of foam is 2" X 2"

I am going to grade the areas with the arrows.

Image

I am using the grass mat as a test as I work on the grade. This is very steep for figures.

The importance of checking fit. The figures can not stand at the edge.

Image

After adjustments with the Bondo grader

Image

Next step is glue. You can see some of the squeeze out at the edge. PVA and nails hold the foam together.

Image

Apply Dry wall mud/filler. It needs to be thick. It will also be used to attach the cast rock faces.

Image

Spread some filler on the area you need to attach the rock face. Add some more to the back of the rock face. The push them together so that some of the filler squeezes out. Clean it up with the knife and a wet brush.

Image

After you clean it up with a large wet brush leave it for a day or two. Fix the blemishes later.

I am going to work on the center section next.
comments and questions are welcome.
