How many Abrakhan guard?

Yeah in a 500-750 pt army I cant convince myself to bring more than 12 and thats more at 750. At 500, probably 6-8 or maybe, a big maybe, 10.

Actually its only 1 attack! For the same points as a Serpent Guard, they perform a great deal better, and they are cheaper than corsair reavers which simply lack killing power against armoured heroes and troops.

LordoftheBrownRing started this thread wondering how many to buy, I felt inspired to field my original six with the Golden King at East Grinstead Wargames Club last weekend. The Guards dis really well, so I decided to but a further six before they go OOP forever!

I don't know what LordoftheBrownRing has decided to do yet, but I would suggest at least 12!

I'd say zero, because I despise the models and concept.

To me, they are one of the most blatant examples of GW stat-creep that plagued the Evil side for the last few sourcebooks.

I personally think that they should be 10 points per model, as the rules for spear support have changed which make them so much more viable. I do however really like the miniatures as they stand out distinctly on the table top!

I found a seller who is supplying me 6 Abrakhan guards, and a Forlong the Fat. I have really tried to swear off buying any models because of a lack of players. But the deal was super good.

I do not really agree with the stat creep notion. But that is my "I hardly ever get to run a match" opinion. For a strictly Harad army, they are a welcome addition. And they look pretty sweet mixed in with my Golden King, Watchers of Karna, and Mahud force.

What I mean by the stat-creep is the over-introduction of Evil troop types with Strength 4 (I can't think of any after a certain point that DIDN'T have it) and lower point values. Abrakhan Guard have 1F, 1S, 2-h weapon and a special rule over and above the standard Haradrim, yet cost only 2 points more. Haradrim are far older profiles using the long-balanced basic Man statline.

Well someone is selling me metals for just under 5 USD so Im gonna get at least 12 maybe more but Im not sure. Harad has just so many options!
