Hello! I've painted up my men of dale as "guard of some town somewhere near the shire" (It's a work in progress untill I start doing some digging fluff wise... ideas?) and plan to run them as Numenorians (same profile) with a converted Isuldur type dude to lead them.

I really want to pick up some hobbits before GW does away with them, maybe 2 or three warbands, and was just curious as to how i could run such an alliance in a reasonably effective manner (Friendly games, so not WAAC)

Are there any other fluffy forces that make good allies for hobbits (Wood Elves, or RotN maybe?)

In Short: I'm looking for a decent way to run a small-ish amount of hobbits becuase i love the models, but dont have a massive load of cash to invest in a full army.

Ally in Dunedain and Arnor. This giving your army a boost in strength, defence and movement. Also, you can ally in Gandalf or Gildor with some Noldorin Exiles.

Alternatively, if this is for friendly games, create profiles for Bree models and ally them in.

That sounds cool, Gandalf has of course been considered. Would Aragorn and some rangers be over doing it?

Whatever you pick, they better have high courage, or high numbers. hobbits drop like flies and break fast.

Dude! Do Bree warriors and use Corsairs! They look just like those nasty guys in the bars and taverns. Just make their profiles something like the Wild Men of Dunland. Lol my phone keeps auto correcting that as Finland.
