Still new to creating armies, and I'm setting up for a small skirmish, just after some opinions on this small 250pt force.

- Shagrat, War Leader of Cirith Ungol;
- 10 Orc Warrior with Shield;
- 2 Morgul Knight
- 1 Morgul Knight with War horn;

We've agreed that BF will be in play, hence the warhorn... Might help a little... Haha

To begin with, if you are using latest rules then you cant have more than 12 models in a single warband. And the second warband if you move your last model there must have hero.
My main concern is that you bring an expensive leader that causes you to form only 1 warband in a 250 pts mordor list.
You include only shield bearers so you cant form a spearblock. Those spearblock especially in low points are nasty!
The horn you use, atm gives you +1 courage in 14(13) models. It does not deserve its cost. Increase number so that break point increases too dont help the enemy break you easily.

You could either spam out orbs and some elites in two warbands or use all mounted or mosters.

4 orcs w shield
4 orc s w spear
4 orc trackers

W2
Black guard captain or shagrat
4 orcs w shield
4 orcs w spear
4 orc trackers

Option 2
W1
Black numenorean marshal w armoured horse, shield, lance
8 morgul knight

1 mordor troll

Yeeaahhh... Guess I really didn't put much thought into this.
I'm going up against elves (including Gil-Galad), and men (Possbily Aragorn), so I was thinking Shagrat with his knockdown could help out there...

Dude if youre going up against those giant heros take a ton of troops, kill of all the forces around them, break them, and you win like every game....

Your initial list isnt bad, you should just remove the Morgul Knights and horn. Simply replace all the Orcs with Moranons or Uruks (maybe even Black Guard), or a mix of the these and you'd have a very effective and elite force, fully capable of crushing Elves, Men and whomever else got in your way at the points level

If they have high-powered Heroes like that at 250pts, their army will be small. I'd advise taking a Nazgul and then maxing out of troops as much as possible. Say:

Warband 1 - 128pts
Nazgul (0/7/1)
4 Morannon Orcs with shield
4 Morannon Orcs with spear and shield

Warband 2 - 122pts
Gorbag with shield
5 Orcs with shield
7 Orcs with spear

That's 250 points on the dot and will certainly outnumber your foes by a good margin.

It's sits on 250 exactly, and I can definitely see the advantage of the RW w/ drain courage and transfix, and the BG Cap having the courage boost because of the RW.

all fear cause army, who dont like it?
I can assure you goblins will have massive problems with this attempt 2(fear army) since generally they rellie on courage 1 (captains at 2) if they toss shaman, drain out his will and no more fury, or shoot him with a black dart and watch him die lol
you can replace gorbag for another castellan with morgul blade...


Peeps keep forgetting how usefull castellans are for so small games, its a 12 fate model regardless what you say so it can stick in a fight for very long and in small games like this, its very relevant that. Also there not bad fighters at all :)

1 castellan can hold gil galad easily for a couple turns no sweat while you kill his other stuff out :P

This is real nice!
Worst chances only against an elf army i suppose.

their courage is at 4, heroes at 5 with that nazgul out, and you can even decrease their courage by nazgul spam courage drains :P

They will focus on the nazgul. Thay will not probably care if you pick the targets cause you are not outnumbering em

But in any way you still have great chances to win,I told you this is a wining list

Also, maybe you could drop 1 orc with shield to get some morannons instead of simple orcs. In case opponent has hihh defence units. Just in case

RW did a lot of the worthwhile work - In one game I reduced Isildurs courage to 1, and once my orcs broke his force, he ran
Cheap tactic, but it worked!

I only have a limited amount of mordor units available to me atm thanks to limited funds (yay for university!), so a lot of the lists you suggested while awesome, are out of my financial reach...
HOWEVER! I have taken note, and come a spare bit of rare cash, I'll build it up.

Got a fairly decent Isengard list... ~ 3000pts worth, I believe... so I might even sell some of them off to buy some mordor units to get a bit of variety.
