Hello!! Can someone explain the use of banner-carriers please? Are the banners worth their points?

Any ally within 3" of a banner may reroll 1 fight die. Rerolled dicemay not be rerolled. For example, if an orc who is within 3" of a banner is fighting rumil and rolls a 6 on his fight die, rumils text forces a reroll. Once the dice has been rerolled, however, the orc may not use the banner to reroll. Reverse-wise, if the orc rolls a 1, then uses the banner to reroll and the reroll = 6, rumil may not use his ability to cause a third reroll. Dice may only be rerolled once.

In summary, allies within 3" of a banner may reroll 1 fight die.
A dice may obnly be rerolled one time.

Rules are in the rule book :)

Are they worth their points? Difficult to say really, in smaller games they really are where one roll can determine the game, in mid level games not so much, and then in bigger games you might as well take them. It also depends what race you're playing. Durins folk for example don't have spears so banners are very handy!

There's also a scenario for points matches that has banners for a requirement for victory points ( though don't have to have one )

I field banners 90% of the time. If i don't field a banner, it is because there is a hero who affords my army the same bonuses as a banner. Angbor, amdur, heir of isildur, and frodo 9 fingered to name a few

Banner can or can't be effective imo. They are not always the best solution but in typical senarios yeah they help and provide VPs.

Also, hey m8 welcome to the forum. You can also find help in greek here: http://www.osgiliath-veterans.gr/index.php this is the greek lotr/hobbit sbg athens community!

No no, we are many and some really good players/modellers. Currently it is an active and big (for greek standards) community, if you are from Athens we are happy to meet you!

No, not Athens :( It's difficult to find communities in the suburbs.
