I have been thinking of the Musketeer and Gripping Beast minis (and some of the Warlord Ancients) as sources for Rohan, Dunland and some of the Northern Kingdom remnants. Ok they are a bit more beefy than the LoTR minis but it's not a huge difference really.

Thanks guys. They are highly recommended, and there is plenty other good stuff in the range.

Here's the website: http://www.musketeer-miniatures.com/

The orders are actually fulfilled by Gripping Beast.

You have some awesome work here. Great stuff and great paint jobs.

To those wondering why GW uses 'white' skin, should know what would happen if you made black skinned people 'bad guys'. In this era more than ever you absolutely cannot have unbalance and portray a non white race as evil exclusively... interestingly enough it is very racist to make them white in order to not offend as making any decision based on skin color is racist but if you do it then you make mahuds African then you become a racist. there reallyis no way to win other tan make everyone the same skin color in your films as often as possible or you have to use all colors on both sides unless you are doing a portrayal of a historic event.

Have been wondering what the Romano-British/Early Saxon troops look like for some time. They actually work brilliantly as Rohirrim! Love the White Horse shield insignia aswell. :)

They do look very Rohanesque, particularly with the paint job. Great!

Great painting. How did you choose the symbols to paint on the shield?

That model fits perfectly! Painted like that it really fits to the Rohan models, very nice! Did you convert anything?

Although not an expressive model, the captain looks great. The shield is nice.

I love those Mahud - the best i've seen. What's the story with your Glaurung campaign? is that proceeding as expected?

At long last, I've painted a miniature! It's tough being a dad and a miniatures fan. Anyway, I found this Reaper Bones model and thought he'd make a great ally for my Dunedain, so I cut him off his integral base and remounted him. I'm really pleased with how much he looks like he is part of the LOTR Range. Pretty good for £2.50 for an individual model
