Wait so you're carving into the Styrofoam to get the brick pattern?

I have a perfectly shaped tool that I just press into the styrofoam. Works a treat :)

As for Orcrist, you can get the United Cutlery or Noble Collection display pieces for a lot less - about £180. The WETA version would be made by their swordsmith and each is unique as they are handmade every time - no CNC work.

I actually got to see one of WETA's swordsmiths at work on a new hilt while I was there. :-D

Wow looking great so far so affective using all foam - where did you get yours from it starting to cost more and more!??

I got my foam direct from a bulk foam supplier, ended up getting a whole heap of it for free as well. Walking into their huge warehouse was like stepping into heaven, it was piled to the roof with foam of all shapes and sizes....a model makers dream. haha

Well, it's been awhile :D

After seeing Celevue's awesome work, I've been inspired to get back on my own project. Currently in the process of carving and finishing the cliffs, as well as the odd piece of brick work.

Just picked up on this thread and I like the way its going. Are you planning to fill the joins in the brickwork so it looks a solid surface ?

Phew, that's a relief. It looks so good I would hate for anything to spoil it.

Brickwork is complete for the ramp

My super-expensive-amazing-one-of-a-kind brickwork 'tool' - (really just the lid from my knife's spare blade case lol) :-D :

It's really not as time consuming as you might think either. Once you get on a roll, that is. :D

Very inventive. Looking at the brickwork there looks loads of damage and general wear and tear that will stand out fantastically when the paint is applied.
