I caved in and bought a good chunk out of the Elves yesterday, Thranduil and Legolas and the Mirkwood cavalry. They'll looks great with the other Elven cavalry for sure and I have a too soft spot for those.
Added to that the Mirkwood Bowmen and Spearmen and the captain and I can get along for a while.

But big, do I love those Elves on horseback :D (Really, I think I'm the only one who does not mind being Thranduil on horse instead of Elk)

I'm looking forward to see what Dol Guldur will do do as well, I fear I'll have another problem when it has Elrond in armor there.

Petrol is a lot cheaper in the US than the UK, and I mean a lot.

Yep Brits pay between 3 and 5 times as much for fuel compared to Americans. The oil costs the same per barrel but our government heavily taxes it as it is a major source of income for them.

Wow. I didn't know that, as I've never been to America.

I think I'll get legolas and wait to see the rules for everything else. If the heroes have new profiles then idk whether I'd get them or not until I see them I guess.

Gas where I live about $2.70 per gallon. There's 3.8 liters in a gallon, so our gas is 71 cents per liter. Which is .45 pounds. And that's in North Carolina, in all the states around us, it's about 15 cents cheaper. Now if only GW prices were that much better over here, I'd buy pretty much all of the minis.

I think I'll just substitute armoured Galahdrim for the armoured Mirkwood rangers, they are very similar anyways, just slightly different helmets.

Well, I do not like the heroes, so I will have none of them, But I did order a couple of spearmen (sadly swordsmen are out of stock...) and their captain. I realy just want to paint a few of the mirkwood armoured warriors. and I think does spearmen and captain make for a nice combination :)

The rest of my money is for what is to come..

The colour scheme does not fit with the movies, but if you look at the captain, His colour scheme, is actualy, a lot like the gold we see the regular warriors in, so He and the spearmen will get the same lighter colours.
The colours used by GW we do see in the prologue, but for the third film it seems they moved away from the reddish armour toward high elf gold.

Anyone else noted the:

"Full rules for these releases will be supplied in a free supplement that comes with WD weekly issue 46"

Seems a little odd..?

Doesn't seem odd at all. Rules for about 3 euros for a lot of miniatures is better than 27 or more. And I've noticed it too.

Its actually not that cheap in Chicago. Its cheaper in other parts of the country but your gasoline is more expensive and I have a Mazda 3 isport. The mpg is awesome.

Sorry to derail the topic but gw prices.....really....I think a conversation about gas and economics is equally important lmfao.

But to stay on topic, Lhosseth said exactly what I was thinking. I wanna see some cool new profiles at least.
