If Legolas fires a deadly shot auto hit on Smaug, does it count as rolling a 6?

I know there is no real answer to this, but I just wanted to know what everyone else thinks. This question is very similar to the old Thranduil question before they FAQd him, regarding resisting his autocasting Nature's Wrath. People didnt know what to resist it on. But since GW announced that it counts as if it was casted on a 6, does everyone feel Legolas's Deadly shot should do it the same way.

Another note is that Deadly shot can always hit the Shadow lord or models under blinding light, which need a 6 to hit. If this is the case, it could be argued that Legolas is technically rolling a 6. If this is the case, Legolas could be a good threat to Smaug.

What do you guys think?

It's very simple. It's not a 6 because you didn't roll a 6. The shadow Lord example isn't really a good case because Leggy's special isn't a roll.

That would be great. I agree it is something that should be clarified because it's not explicitly stated it's more of just what's "not there" if that makes sense

I would say it does count as a six. It is called Deadly shot for a reason, and Legolas is arguably the best archer in Middle-earth.

Have to Agree with JamesR, its says automatically hit, as far as we know to hit for legolas needs a 3+ to make a sucessfull hit.

Smaug need FAQ seriously in many diferent things from lego auto hit to fighting mumak and fall back rule.

But why is it a "6"? for all we know it's a 3, or a 7 even. It's an auto-hit but no where do they rules assign a number value to it

We could take a page out of the goblin scribe on fury book here

the goblin scribe has a capped bonus for the reinforcements he can summon when on fury, as it guarantees the D3 reinforcements.

It doesn't say counts as a 6 in the rule, and nowhere does it seem to be intended, either way you would still be better off shooting him 3 times as; if you get a 6 on each roll to hit(provided you wound him) he would suffer 3 wounds per shot, which if you has insanely good luck COULD mean causing 9 wounds on the big fella

If we could actually form an opinion off the rules, everyone...look no further his father.....his auto hit for magic has to be resisted by a 6. I dont see why he would be any different.

Simon Grant has already adressed this on the facebook page. He doesn't count as rolling a 6.

Nearly every interpretation has been based upon the rules.
And magic and shooting seldom have much in common, assumptions based upon other dissimilar rules shouldn't be made
