After being thoroughly impressed with the community's passion here, I've got a few questions re: gearing towards friendly but still quite competitive games between some siblings/friends.

In particular, we're each aiming towards our own 1k point army, though with an eye to cost and labor (seriously, 2 easterling pikes in a pack? fo reals?) any advice for conversion tricks and especially point sinks which still synergies with army lists would be appreciated. After all, who doesn't mind seeing some monsters on the field?

So, I humbly ask your advice in both how I should modify existing lists and what works best to flesh them out.

For Isengard i would Add Ugluk and fill it up for the rest with uruk-hai warriors with pikes/shields.

For Erebor I would firsf say one thing the new Dwalin can't lead Erebor dwarves. You could go for the old dwalin instead. Further Thror or Thrain would be a good addition to the army and fill that up to with erebor dwarves then take a captian of erebor and fill that up with dwarves of Erebor.

For your easterlings Amdûr would be a great addition and add up to your list 10 archers and 2 pikeman. With the archers you can break the enemy line and charge in with your catapracts. And drop the banner on your catapract and give him to a foot soldier that way he is far more efficient.

I'd say add Thrain because of his Stand Fast special rule.

I'd go Saruman and Grima for Isengard! Maybe Sharkey and worm? And I'd second Amdur for easterlings, maybe Khamul on a fellbeast?! That'd be sweet. Maybe for Erebor wait and see if Iron Hill dwarves are a thing and ally them in.
