Hi,

of course its up to you. However, A good and an evil force would be more interesting in my opinion, because some at tournements you have to have two armys, a good force and an evil. Its also better for showing the game to somebody.
But an other possibility would be: Look at GWs homepage and count the miniatures of Isengard/ Girions army which you would like to paint and/or play.

Isengard would probably be much easier to collect and also more competitive as well. Dale are very cool however and I have started making a force of them led by Girion, I plan to add a warband of laketown militia (maybe painted red to blend in) and also some dwarf allies at some point.

I can tell you Isengard is a dynamite army, and always good for people starting new to the hobby or a new army.

You can go with Girion later as well, but out of those two, Isengard is a lot simpler, easier, cheaper, and better to start with.

Isengard is overplayed IMO, but it sells for really cheap on eBay. If you're taking Isengard then use eBay,but if you're wary of eBay I'd say Dale would be funner to collect.
