Hi guys, planning to put together a little skirmish force. Pleace tell me what you think..
example list:
Warband 1
Girion
3 warriors of dale with shield
4 warriors of dale with spear and shield
3 warriors of dale with bow

warband 2
Captain of dale
3 warriors of dale with bow
4 warriors of dale with spear and shield
3 warriors of dale with shield

warband 3
Young Balin
4 warriors of erebor with spear
4 warriors of erebor with shield
4 Grim hammers

How many points are you aiming for?

I'd take Dwalin instead of the captain and 3 grimhammers. Way more killing power!

Agreed.
I'd also drop the bows to take more infantry. 6 S2 bows in the hands of average, lowdefence archers seems like wasted points to me.

I'd take the bows, but convert them to have spears, too. If you have bows (even if you only have 6) and your opponent doesn't you can force him to fight were you want it.

if the archers have also spears, sure, that's a good. That will give them another purpose, another use, when shooting became pointless. But I rarely seen six no-elven bows being more than a moderate bother. An army with 12 rangers is a threat, an army with 6 funny-hats numeneoreans...not so much.
But, of course, you are right on that point. Giving them spears will increase their efficiency
