Very nice work here mate! Not sure how sane you still are with all the mini's you keep on churning out but at least some of us(ie. you :p) are getting something done!

Cheers guys.

I'm almost scared to do anymore to Galadriel incase I screw it up now.

Well, more insanity abounds. It's 5am, and I just can't stay awake any longer, so here's how I've progressed with the minis for Scenario 1...

Image

Hopefully, get them finished over the remainder of today.

Mwah hah hah hah ha!

A trip to the shops for her to buy a present for someone else I've never heard ofs new baby, meant a sneaky trip to the model shop and GW.

I think I'm sorted for trees now. Having 50...

Also picked up Celeborn, Arwen (the decent sculpt) a HE Command Blister and the 9 HE Spearmen.

Woo! That leaves 9 models still to get.

Still, I forgot the Scorched Brown... That's me shafted.

I'll try and get that first batch of Elves done later tonight once Nikki's in bed, maybe assemble the new stuff.

Oh, and pics. I'll take pics.

I mean the newest one.

The one that doesn't have a Hobbit smuggling mounted version.

The one that actually looks like Liv Tyler.

The one that doesn't look like it was sculpted with a sledgehammer.

T.A, don't ever consider a career in detective work...

:P

Yes, it's the one in your picture. I got the blister, although I only need the version on foot at the moment.

Wait... That doesn't make sense. You want a sledgehammer that helps sculpt cack models? Dude, you have skill, you can do good sculpts.

Are you really sure you want my BO? If so, feel free to lick my armpit...

Ok, update before bed.

Here's how far the Elves have progressed.

I really hate the plastic models. You start painting the back of the model, and when you turn it round, the line you are following vanishes. they also don't hold washes very well. The Sentinels are much better. I almost like them...
Still a fair bit of work to be done. Since the pic was taken I've added a few washes here and there. Still need to do any gold details, and the base edges. Might do Thranduils robes up to white.

Image

and what is it they say about terrain? That it shold cover half the table...

Image

Right, that's 60 trees in total. Should be enough for a 4x4 board. The thing they are lying on is the first board I'll need.

2x2 sheet of styrofoam, covered with very cheap and nasty woodchip wallpaper and painted brown. Still need to finish the edges, and drybrush and grass the surface.

The other PITA today was the fact that I'm now after 50 round 40mm bases. GW in their infinite wisdom have stopped selling the bags of 20 or so that they used to, and now you get a paltry 4 in a round base bag.

I might have to start a 40mm round base amnesty...

I feel your pain mate .. I'm in dire need of then as well lol. If you need them to glue trees on the Hasslefree ones are great, but they are to thin for GW cavalry miniatures ...

Looking great so far!

Your painting schedule is staggeringly amazing. Keep up the good work and good luck on those 40mm bases :)

I'm not especially happy with the way they turned out, the sculpts are not the greatest, and the more I worked on them, the quicker I wanted it over and done with.

Anyway, I don't want to make too good a job of them, I don't want them to outshine my Evil models.

I likw what you have done so far with them John, especially Thranduil, although as with all pics, the larger image takes something away from him.
The thing I hate about that sculpt is Games Workshop with no reference sculpted the staff in semi warhammer style, bugs me when they do that.

Nice elves! The sculpts aren't that great yeah. I don't have any but i've seen lots of my friends elves. And they're kinda different because they don't have a scrap of metal on them. I think you've done justice to the sculpts though  .
interesting hair schemes...orange, white, yellow....Aren't all elves supposed to be blonds :P .
Thraundil could easily get killed in his bright white suit (when all his troops have camo).

I think I need some elves now, or maybe i'll just keep bugging my friend to let me paint some of his  .

Thankfully? What do you mean thankfully?

I like how they are progressing John, the organic colours suit them well. Thranduil has turned out really nice also, the white makes him stand out from the crowd, he appears to be glowing in the second pic 8) (or is it the flash?)

Looking forward to seeing more and then hopefully you can provide us with some battle reports :D

thankfully...i was more worried about the "only"! looking great, shame about the sculpts huh? plastic elves are awful and the sentinels aren't sure if they are male or female!
