Being a champion, he's a little taller than other figures. He measures 34mm from bottom of skirts to top of head.

Me too.

That's just the KG. I've also got about 20 or 30 warriors/archers in metal.
Then there's the 48 plastic warriors.

No Iron Guard yet...

They are too expensive. I haven't bought new from GW for a couple of years (with the exception of paint and the plastic dwarves). It's just too expensive. Most of my minis were bought from eBay.

Note to self - have Jimmy Nesbitt bid for everything on eBay to put the prices up.

Sorry, guys.
I've been on holiday for two weeks and have been side-tracked with painting a load of figures and my son having chicken pox!

I'm batch painting 90 Uruks at the moment.

Just before I went on holiday, after doing a fair bit of work on his sword hand, his hand fell off!!!

Since returning I have reattached his hand and now need to sculpt the fingers again. After that I'll sculpt his bracer, sleeves and bracer straps. Then it's time for the banner/flag.

Looking forward to the next update!
Hope your son feels better soon...chicken pox (from what I remember) sucks.

unrelated the skeletal host...

I did want to mention that I ordered a set of halfling holes from JohnandTricia this week. Looking forward to getting them and building some new terrain for Adepticon with them.

At the risk of derailing the Skeletal Host.... I got my halfing holes today. I must say I'm really impressed with the level of detailing on them for sure.

Question for you - on the chimney one, the way it was cast leavees a bunch of "extra" resin behind the smoke stack. Do you think I should just cut this away and sculpt the bricks behind the stack? I don't know how feasible it would be, but it would be nice to have that one sculpted on all the sides of it. Anyway, I'll figure something out. I hope to use this as part of our Adepticon 2009 LOTR terrain.

Yes, that's what I'd do. It's far easier on the plaster casts and I've done it on my own cast. I'm not sure how easy it will be to cut the white resin. Take care!

I'm so glad that you like them. :)

holy! that is a ton of KG. My goal for my dwarf army I think was about fourty. I didn't think I'd get there, but you show me that ebay makes it possible! Loving the paint jobs from what I can see on the khazad guard too.

You're sculpting skills are absolutely stunning as well. I've seen this thread, you're hobbit hole one, you're dragon one, I just can't believe my eyes when I see this stuff!

Dylan.

Well, they are on my workshop table ready to go. I'll give you some photos when I get to them (probably later this fall).

That wasted looking fellow… I think I’ve met him yesterday at the competition. He made a very favourable impression! Didn’t know it was yours though, suspecting it was a sculpt from ukfreddybear (After three month’s I’m still reading up on all these articles). Well, another great artist at work (I was already impressed by your casting skills)! And thanks for all this information about these different modelling materials & how to handle them. Very instructive.
