I am planning on picking up the slipcase blue colored versions very soon, along with the 50th leather version of LOTR, mainly for the extra moria burnt book part.
However the real reason I want to read COH is because I have never been a huge fan of high fantasy, I like the dark gritty depressing stuff much more, as I find it to have a little more of a realistic feel to it, not saying HF is bad just not my cup of tea, so I think this will be a good "first read" for me into his writings.
Just curious, is there much dwarf content in this ?
And the cover looks gorgeous, I love alan lees art style.

The Children of Hurin are men, therefore the majority of the book is obviously about the tales of Men. There is however a small Dwarf content...but not much.
