New year and a new mini from me though in truth it was started last year. There is a story behind my reason for painting this particular mini despite it being a cool mini any way.
My wife has always had a bit of a temper even when she was little in fact she told me a story once of an occasion where she was out playing with other children as children do and one particular child was on a swing that she wanted to have a go on. She asked said child for a go and when he didn't give the swing over to her she went off to her dad's shed brought back a hammer and promptly whacked the offending child around the head with it, needless to say this didn't go down too well with the child's parents but she did get her go on the swing.
My wife is also not the tallest of people so this mini is perfect as a caricature of said offending youngster. So without further ado I give you Doris Hammerhand

Needless to say we all tread very carefully in my house. Happy New Year.

Now, did she tell you this BEFORE or AFTER you were married?

Outstanding work Tim, I can't really say I like the miniature though. I don't know what it is, but it looks a little off to me, however, I can't fault your painting at all. I love the graduation of colour on the hammer head, and the metallics are flawless.

Another outstanding piece.

(I hate you :P )

Awesome story Tim and a very well painted model!
Now, has she beaten you for naming this one after her? :)

I sure had to laugh when seeing that picture after reading the explanation :D . But it's a funny model with a very nice paintjob!

It's a pure fantasy mini, and as such it has a lot of character. The painting is excellent and the tale of your wife's, err, assertiveness, ahem, rings very true in this household where sibling and neighbourly squabbles over swings and so forth usually degenerated into something resembling the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

And that was just before lunchtime... :D

It's a great mini, the paintjob's really good! The story made me laugh. Does your wife hit you too?

There's a story about a chinese female swordfighter, who threatend her husband with her blade each time he refused to clean, cook, etc. Untill the one time she pointed the blade at him, and slipped. The poor man was stuck, and died the next day in the hospital.... Don't let it get this far, Tim! :P

Nice story to accompany this model, the fact that it holds so many similarities with what you described your wife as doing as a kid and being smaller than average makes it even odder!

The model has a peculiar looking face which reminds me of a turtle strangely but the paintjob you've given her is brilliant, great start to a new year Tim 8)

I am not sure why I like this mini but I do. It has real character, especially in the great paint job of the face.

Great job, I love the tones on the tip of the hammer. Your metallics are superb, I don't know how you do it!

Keep up the good work,

KJ Necromancer

Glad to see more models from you Tim, and you've (once again) done a fantastic job on it. Have to say, a fitting model for the story :)
