I love it! I used to sketch insane bin-tanks and the like, sort of advanced doodles really... that frightened my teachers and made other people want to sit elsewhere in the class.... this is like a small scout variant. My best creations were like a cross between a Mega-gargant and some of the German WW2 supertank projects.

I admit it - I am a tad weird.

Tim, the painting is superb as usual - I love the oil dribbles coming off some of the rivets and that 'lived-in' feel.

A lovely piece of art work! I love the "eyes" and the gem effects on te blue lights. The gore/blood effect on the drill bit looks perfect, I have never seen a better representation of blood in my life!

Well done,

KJ

I was asked recently if I would paint some of the skeletons by Otherwold Miniatures.
I agreed to do some and here is a WIP of the first one. The bone is pretty much done all that is needed to finish this is the shield still to be attatched and the axe plus base. The flagstone base is as requested by the client.

This first one is more a test piece for the rest. The highlights are a little lighter in the light of day. The camera seems to have reduced them a little. I wanted the bone to look more dirty and old than the more bleached white skellies that are popular with GW.

Looking very nice Tim. The bone looks perfect as I'm sure the rest of it will be when finished.

Thanks guys, the colour and style is driven by the customer but honestly the bones are brighter in the light of day. For some reason the camera has failed to pick out the lightest tones.

Well here is the first one finished apart from the base. I'll be doing all the bases at the same time on these I think.
I have tried to weather the axe head and shield a bit and I am pleased with the results.

Mac is having flashbacks there.... and I also thought of Ray Harryhausen's creations in so many Greek legends movies.
Excellent work Tim.

The shading on the bone is perfect, Tim! Also, I like the multi-colored oxidization on the buckler.

Drifting back to the thread's topic....

Tim, as always, your painting is stunning. Sarcasm aside, I have never seen a more realistic Skeleton and Tin-Bin thingy. Great work, as usual! 8)
