May I note that 2 of the 3 countries you have mentioned have English as their main language, albeit with a strange accent.

And using punctuation is punishable by death...

It should be noted that words being pronounced differently does not constitute them being classed as another language. It may be a regional variation or dialect.

My first language is English, although I'm Scottish, and, even though I speak English, I have a Scottish accent and use different pronunciation, from, say, Brian or Jack.

Just because we have different terms to other English speaking countries such as the US and UK, doesn't mean we speak a different language. I think you're attempting to refer to either jargon or 'slang' - where we've changed phrases or words to fit with Australian lifestyle and culture.

So that is not an 'actual fact'.

You cannot claim that 'tucker', 'bludgers', etc are a completely different dialect.

This is kind of going 'Off Topic' guys !!!

This thread was not created to 'bicker' about what is or what is not correct English..there are many versions of it, just because someone from the US can not spell 'Colour' correctly  is not a platform for a massive debate.

I think Alan's (Dagorlad) statement says it all, people in England are anal when it comes to speaking another language...we expect others to speak in our language (a bit harsher than the reality of it), so I guess we need this site to speak only in the 'most spoken language in the world !

Anyone who speaks fluent Manadarin or Chinese

English being 2nd.

Joking aside, again, it comes down to the people who run this site and their language abilities to enable us to moderate what is being said and to keep this site one of the friendliest around.

I happen to know the languages my southern neighbours speak very well! :-X

thanks avenger for pointing it out.

Besides, to stop this topic from becoming too nationalistic, I still think that the site should stay English based.

Perhaps we could all speak Klingon ifs we get sick of it. :-D

This thread is going nowhere. The question was raised, an authoritative answer was given. Let's leave it alone now
