Believe it or not I'm still working on Minas Tirith. For those of you that haven't seen or heard this saga, I've been working on this board on and off for a few, (ok more than a few), years
It is however very nearly completed. A few more roof's to tile, a little more carving, and some columns, and it's practically done. I will however be adding small details for a while, if not the rest of my life.
The board is 4 feet by six feet and while trying to stay true to the movie image, I have taken some ... liberties. Eg The Merchant house is on the right side when it should be on the left, etc.

Thought you may like to see some pictures.

Well, PaulF, Minas Ithil & Osgiliath weren’t built in one day neither!

As I said before, for me, your Minas Tirith model is one of the icons of lotr scenery building; every time I watch the movies, soon as the White City appears from behind that hill a neon sign is flashing up: “I’m still workin’ on it!” I’m really looking forward to see it finished (am I right or are there still some statues missing...? ).

A Masterpiece!

It is looking marvelous! The work put into it is obviously phenomenal...
Could you please post a picture with the whole model? :)

Today is my turn to play the bothering one...
Appart from all the nice comments above... I can only add, this scenery-masterpiece deserves much bigger pictures!!! 800 pixels is allowed, 800 is what it needs!

8) Awesome PaulF! So glad to see this again!
I still remember the shots you once showed, I so wish I had the space and the time to build something like that!! I so love the atmosphere it breaths! Would love to walk around in there (well, resized I mean...) !

Show us more! Show us bigger! :D

Thank you all. I promise more pictures (of 800 pixels  ) with some models for scale, and a close up of some of the details asap.

As for the "missing statues", well we'll see what I can come up with. I have absolutely no sculpting skill whatsoever so I will have to get creative or get some help. I did just add the statue of the Mounted knight in the center of the courtyard but that was just a GW mini which required absolutely no effort or talent

I have added some more pictures showing some of the details. Everything is scratch built including the sacks which I made by heating plasticard tubing and twisting (I just may have invented that technique having never seen or read about it before).

MacG.: Just editing the link to your gallery PaulF. When you use the 'My personal gallery' link it actually links to the users personal gallery. If I click that, I end up in my gallery, not yours. Link is working now.

The Gate is 3/4 inch MDF. I carved out the niches, added a couple of "Kings of Men" models. I then used plasticard strips for the extra details.

I had some problems trying to download the pics in anything larger
