AWESOME work Patrick! :yay:

I wouldn't go overboard on the bases though. I quite like them at the moment as they don't detract away from the models themselves, but a sprinkling of extra detail wouldn't hurt I suppose. 8)

CMoN links:

This one was up already, but its a better pic and the black is finished.

The other two:

I'm unhappy with the scores so far, but usually they start off bad and improve...

The score is riddiculous, those marines couldn't be better painted.

CMoN is tough, it's wastly diversified in terms of the people who inhaibts the site, and you have to submit something very extraodrinary to get decent rating. I've often got beaten down by the score of my work, but in time you might find that it encourages you to produce better and better miniatures. There's alot of envy and 'sniper'-rating going on that makes most ratings unfair. In my book you're a very promising painter who will just keep developing. You got great skills, and I keep getting impressed. :)

Thanks Olofer :)

Yeah the ratings can really be wierd there sometimes... I put up one of my marines last week, it ended at 7.4, I put the same mini up this week with barely noticeable differences and it got a 7.9. It all depends on what snipers see it I suppose. :( Well, I suppose my painting can only improve, so like you said, I'll be trying extra hard with my upcoming marines :)

In any case, my Assault Marines are better in your hands :P

I totally agree with olofer! The ratings can be very strange, particularly when you post two times almost the same mini  .
Keep posting and painting, you are a very good painter and i'm sure you will, one day, amaze the wholo cmon community :-D

Speaking of funny ratings, I posted two pictures of the same miniature, one is now on 9.5, the other on 9.0. with equal amount of votes. The lower rated is a featured auction, which adds to my suspicion that alot of people get irritated by people earning money on their painting.

The system there really is corrupt IMO, but they can't help that I suppose. Another example popped up today - one of my minis had a 7.8 and 1 vote made it drop to 7.6 even after 60 votes, which means he must have voted a 3 or something.

In other news I am halfway through a LE Space Marine. Will be done by the end of the week I reckon.

lol, that's totally insane but i've also experienced such a sudden drop in rating.

But don't get disencouraged and keep up the good work!

I apologize for the slow rate of painitng at the mo. I have been painting though:

He's half done and still very WiP, mohawk is done though. Here's a simple conversion of the 2008 WD subscription mini to have a powerfist. I personally love the 'bring it' pose.

That's some good painting. Do you get such smooth armour by painting several layers of thinned paint, or is there another trick to it? :?. I like the pose of the second marine as well. 8)

Thanks for looking peeps. I've realised after taking the pic that the colours in the first pic are washed out and pale, and don't show much contrast, especially in the red (Well, only in the red, since that the only part with more than 2 layers.)

@Anduril Flame: Yes, I use lots of thin, watered down layers.

EDIT: I forgot to add - I am bursting away at the Witcher finally, so expect a big update this week.

As said, the pose of the second marine really is like "Bring it on, [word deleted]". Lovely. :yay:

Cheers.

Here's an update on Geralt of Rivia. He's had alot done to him over the past day, but there's a good bit to go still. Parts that are done: Hair, face, orange leather, pants (Well, maybe 1 more highlight) and dark leather. I apologize for the camp DiY figure holder :o
