I do. :)

Only I don't pay tons and tons of cash, I get 'em for a discount. One time I had a guy at a GW store who was tired of playing give me 2 boxes of Uruk-Hai, sealed, for $10.00 USD. 1/5 the retail.

I hardly ever play, just paint. :-D

You should buy most of your mini's from eBay or Maelsrom Games, they are much cheaper than Games Workshop. 8)

Well, other than that, I don't typically buy 'em at GW, I order from a U.S. supplier called ChaosOrc's superstore for a good discount.

Kind of surprised no one else has replied to this topic.... :?

I play a few games but not nearly as much as I wish I could. I don't buy minis often, just paint them again and again and again.

I don't play because I don't have the time and it's far to travel.

I buy most of my mini's from Marktplaats (similar to ebay but it's dutch)
It only costs something like 15% of the real price :-D
(just bought nearly all the bgime magazines :D )

And from time to time I buy paints and mini's at a store in Leeuwarden

i'm the opposite. i buy minis to play with them and to be honest, don't really enjoy painting all that much.

what i mean is, i can play games all day, but can only paint for about 3 hours before being bored and lonely. i really only paint because i want the minis to look good on the table.

what i can do however, is make terrain without any real reason or needing it. :-D

I don't get to play as often as I like (especially since I moved), but I'm definitely a complete hobbyist...collecting, modelling, painting & gaming.

I rarely ever game, partly due to not actually having a complete painted army.

My favourite aspects of the hobby are by far the collecting and painting side of things.

I try to be as complete a hobbyist as I can, although painting and terrain making tend to take up most of my time. Terrain making has probably become my favorite part of the hobby, I simply love everything about it. I would love to game more, but I'm in the same boat as Jake, not having a complete army.

Errrr, I very rarely play and have spent huge amounts of cash on minis.

I do try to paint as much as possible, in fact, I've finished over 3000 points of Uruk-hai this year, and never played a game with them...

I do all the things - paint, build terrain and play - or at least I like to play when I can find time for it. The problem with playing is that nowadays it's really hard for me to get two people together for a gaming session. And this game competes with Space Hulk, Starfleet Battles, role-playing games and board games, so once per month can be considered as very often for me.

Well I collected the minis for 5 years before I accidentally found a local opponent around the same age and in the same boat as me. We kind of learnt together which was pretty good as one side didn't dominate the other.

I used to be obsessed and collected every variation and pose of each character to be a completist. GW beat me in the end though as I eventually decided to not buy sculpts I didn't like, nor models for which rules are just stupid, or mini's that I deem to be untolkienesque. Now I just buy the minis that I like.

But I'm a victim of my own greed, as I have thousands of minis to paint and can't decide which ones to do first. I need to get out of the mindset that I have to paint every model from a particular faction before moving on as the task is so daunting that i keep putting it off altogether. I started with my 120+ model Uruk force, but got bored with them in the end.

So I've been playing for maybe 18 months on and off. (with many an unpainted/partly painted mini in amongst the painted ones.)
