I am not sure what forum would be best for this, but I was wondering if anyone would share their base color choices, as I am not sure what one I'd like to use. I like the ones in the two towers book for most modals. If anyone would share their color choice (preferably with picture) I would very much appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Basecoat of Scorched Brown, drybrush Vomit Brown, then Drybrush Bleached Bone. Paint rim Scorched Brown and add static grass to taste.

You could be wildly different and go for pink (that would frighten most opponents). Many choose some shade of green or brown, a few use grey or white 'winter war' bases; I use black (saves on paint, another cunning plan!)

I do my bases in the following manner:

1. Apply sand/ballast mix to the base with PVA
2. Spray the entire model with Chaos Black (helps seal the sand in place).
3. Drybrush with Scorched Brown
4. Drybrush with Graveyard Earth
5. Drybrush with Bleached Bone.
6. Any especially large stones are picked out with Codex & Fortress Gray.
7. Apply Static Grass with PVA
8. Varnish model

For my moria bases (Dwarves & Goblins) I did the same as the above, except drybrushed with Codex Gray, Fortress Gray & Skull White rather than the brown shades.

I typically wash the sand with watered-down Scorched Brown & Dark Flesh 50/50, and drybrush with various greys and light browns.

For the rim color, I use Dark Flesh, Scorched Brown and occasionally Khemri Brown. 8)
