This picture shows the size of my dwarf army so far, including the models I've yet to paint (the Iron Guard, Gimli, a captain, banner bearer and a few others). A couple of Khazad Guard had broken axes so I made some flags a few years ago. My sculpting skills have improved since then, so one day I'll make some decent banners for them now that I've got an official one to base the size and shape on.

I did a few simple conversions just adding scale armour and some chainmail to make these archers look a bit more individual.

My painting's not the best but it does the job. I've just got some Asurmen blue and I want to experiment with that to see if I can get some better shading in the cloth.

:D Pictures. :D I really like the colour scheme, probably because it's almost exactly what I am doing for my new dwarf army. :-D 8)
Is Smaug ever going to get a lick of paint? :P Oh, wait, you're secretly painting him for the o-r awards? Right. I guess I shouldn't have told everyone about it, eh? Or tempted you to put up wip picks. :)

*sigh*, if only. :-X
Having said I was going to paint dwarves...

I've actually been painting some metal Uruks (feral, crossbow, bowmen, berzerker and captains) and have just bought another 12 crossbowmen - bringing the total to 40! Most of those need a repaint now as I've had them ages.

Today I have been painting some card KR Multicases just to make them a bit tougher and water-resistant.

Mrs L: Why do you need so many cases?

Mr L: Er... because I have so many figures.

I've more or less finished the 12 new crossbowmen but that led me to want to repaint my originals to get them to fit in with each other. Hopefully this'll be the last time I change the paint scheme for my Uruk-Hai.

12 finished with 6 berzerkers to paint in the background.

Here's a close up. Ready for battle rather than a gallery.

Here are all them, with the finished 12 and 28 waiting for a repaint.

I like it. The chainmail is nice and neat. About time you did some more sculpting. 8)
