I always liked Hadhafang, Sting and Glamdring.

When you have enough popular suggestions, how about a poll?

The best is obviously Anduril, Flame of the West!

I don't like the Galadhrim bows at Helm's Deep much, they're too flashy...

I like the uruk-hai crossbows. I mean it's a pump-action crossbow with stabby bits stuck on the front, what's not to like.
For swords, I would have to say Sting.

Bilbo's walking stick!

I'm kidding, my favourite weapon is properly the humble rohan sword.

It has to be the uruk-hai berserker sword. It's bad enough when they're swinging a 6 1/2 feet long weapon but it has a giant double-ended spike on the end of it! Awesome for the removal of heads and the parting of legs from abdomen. :)

anyone know if you can still get the elf swords that completely pwn?

slightly of topic, but why are the galadhrim so rubbish at fighting with their swords in the film? one berzeker kills like, six of them with one mighty swing, one gets hit by a crossbow bolt and somehow falls forewards off the wall, and when aragorn says 'charge' (stupid command- they still had arrows) one dumb elf runs straight onto a pike. just before haldir dies, he turns round- and gets hit from behind. that stupid uruk must have been right in front of him, roaring in his face. i mean, come on?

Gimli's 2 handed axe is pretty sweet, as well as his walking axe and the throwing one too. I'll have to agree with geezer too, the witch king's flail is great!

Sauron's mace and the Witch-Kings flail, both look deliciously evil!

Have been laid up with the 'flu for the last couple of days so what better way to pass the time than re-watching LOTR! Have been watching all the extended edition extras about the designs and when you see the close-ups of Theoden's sword and armour it is just amazing to see the amount of detail that went into them that will never get seen on screen, e.g. the leather lining on his armour was embossed with a recurring sun motif, the leather embellishments on the armour had Rohirric "mythology" etched into them. Just unbelievable.

The berserkers pike thing is pretty cool. It is very simple yet very brutal

The Elven Blade. Just the fluid motion at the begining of The fellowship, makes me get all tingly inside.
