very nice but maybe you can post some pictures from further away?

I will try to post some soon. I've been really busy this week helping with a Vacation bible School, so I haven't been able to do much painting. I did do the hair on the knight Champion though, and I will hopefully be able to do the base on my dwarf tonight. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do anything next week since I may be going to someones house to help out with another Vacation Bible School in a town an hour's drive from where I live. If I do go, I will be gone from tomorrow afternoon till Friday or Saturday. But if I don't go, I will have lots of time to paint, unless I am still in bed  .

Finished the dwarf, and did a bit more on the Champion. I don't have much time at the moment, so I will just post the pics, and hope y'all comment.

They look good. The bases are quite nice though a little more dry brushing could add a little more texture to it. Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments! @ Dwarf Lord of Ered Luin, do you mean the rock could use another drybrush(which it does, now that you mention it), or the groung?
Also, it turns out that I will not be helping with the VBS, so I will have quite a bit time to paint. I have already done some, and I will be doing some more later today. I'm not sure if I will be able to post pics yet, but we'll see.

Well, last night I felt like repainting one of my old metal Easterling miniatures, and experimented a bit more with the NMM technique. I really enjoy painting with the NMM technique, so this was a lot of fun to paint.

It still needs some work on a couple of places, but I'm really happy with how it's turning out. NOTE: I haven't got to the shield yet, but I probably will later today. Also the spear broke off, but it's fixable. Please let me know what you think.

The NMM on the easterling is very good. You've improved a lot.
As for the base, I would say that both the rock and the ground needs a little more highlighting.

Well, in four short months you have improved enormously. Compare the first photos in this thread with the ones you just posted! And not only your execution is improving, but the techniques you are trying have become more and more adventurous as well.

NMM is something that often takes ages to perfect, but you are certainly well on your way. These Easterlings are really something to be proud of. I can't wait to see them finished.

Can't agree more, your NMM looks really great!

I think NMM is somewhere also a good exercise to skill up painting real metallics, especially to figure out where to highlight and where to darken down... At least it helped me out a bit...

Great easterling and dwarves! :D

Thanks for all the kind words! @DLoEL, I will be sure to give them both another drybrush. I don't have a whole lot of time, so here are some pics of what I have done with the Easterling so far.

I think the shield turned out pretty nicely, but the silver parts need some work, and I think I could've done a bit better with the blending, so I will probably fix that some time today. Please leave your Feedback on what you think about it, and I hope you enjoy!

Looks great, but any chance you could resize your pictures to a max width of 600 pixels? Would be easier to look ;)

Lovely work on the Easterling! Gold NMM is spot on, as are the highlights on the cloak 8)

Keep us updated!

That's a nice Nmm for the start. Try to create more contrast to create more metallic look ;)

Thanks for the comments! @TBB, I will see what I can do. I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to do that :) .
@Haldir_pl, are there any particular spots on the armor that need more contrast? If so, please let me know, and I will see if I can do it.

Do you upload with Imageshack? If so there's a handy resize option where figures 450x600 8)

No, I use Photobucket, but I'm pretty sure I figured out how to resize. I guess we shall see if I did it right on my next update.

Just to let you all know, I have finished the Easterling, and have decided to paint the rest of my dwarves. They are coming along pretty smoothly, but the sheilds are annoying. I will try to post some pics soon.

Got some Morannon orcs a few days ago, and finished painting one, and nearly finished another. I also nearly finished the Easterling. I found a couple places that need tidying up.

sorry if some of them are a bit big, I don't have a whole lot of time, and I'm having a bit of trouble resizing them. I did find a good size, but I forgot what it is. Hopefully I can find it again soon, cause it was perfect. I will be leaving for a trip later today, so I won't be able to check back here in about a week, maybe longer. Enjoy!
