I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Have you bases any of these? Your painting is very good but they just don't look quite finished as they are.

Lovely work on Aragorn, the face is especially great :yay:

Indeed, now you must base them to the same standard as your painting... good luck

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. yeah I havent based anything yet for 2 reasons: 1 I dont have any basing supplies and 2 I am moving soon and figure it will be easier to move the models if I can still take them off their bases. But I will get around to basing models in a while, I already have a very elaborate rock base planned out for strider.

Anyway here are a few pics of what I have been up to. These arent my best work, they were more to push me on the path of painting again and to make me feel like I have actually finished some models, since I have a rather large backlog. In fact these guys only took me about 2 hours each, which for me is incredibly fast as it normally takes about 6-8 to paint a single model. There are 5 more on the way and I will show off the whole formation of them soon.

C & C welcome

Nice! The painting is really neat, and the highlights are lovely, especially on the hands and leg armor. I could argue however that the swords seem a little to "plain" to me... maybe give them a few more washes so that highlights are contrasted more?

Keep it up :)

Well done. Gold is really cool painted.
If I were you I would add more highlights to clothes.

Thanks for the comments! Right, so it took me a while cause im not good with directing my attention at one thing for very long, but here are my Easterlings, 8 beautiful swordsmen. Actually I am not that pleased with them, but the were a quick, prolly around 1.5 to 2 hours on each.

They look good to me, but the black (brown?) cloth could be highlighted a bit more to create some contrast.

Exactly, give brown some more highlights and maybe some shades for beige. Or in case you don't have time, just some gryphonne sepia wash ;)

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah the brown could be a little better, though it does look better in real life. I'm currently working on a gates of moria diorama as i really dont want to do more Easterlings right now. Ill take some picture of what i have so far for the Moria gate and post that soon.

I can kind of see what you mean - in the second Easterling pic the colors do look a bit better, sometimes pictures have a hard time capturing what a model really looks like.

So despite being inactive I have actually been up to quite a bit, I was just too lazy to take photos. Here is what I have:

This is a cave I have been doing. There will actually be water coming out of the cave but I havent got that far yet as there are a couple more things I want to add. (clickable thumbnails to keep the size down)
Image Image

next we have an update on my gates of Moria project which I am basing on Olofers in Tomes of Wisdom:

Image

And lastly is a wood elf I have been working on. I was actually planning on doing a better job on him and then submitting him to the OR awards but I dont have anything to do a base with and dont want to buy anything at the moment as I will be moving soon.

Image Image Image
Let me know what you guys think of the color scheme, i was trying to go for smt different.
I know the pictures arent the best quality but we are having bad weather here so there is not too much good natural light. C&C always welcome.

That's got to be about the most realistic face I've ever seen painted in all my years!
:-X Damn I wish I could do faces that good.
