It has been some time since I posted something.
Not many people know me, but I wanted to let you know something.

I have a tumor in my knee, and I can't walk that good anymore.
I started a thread about walking with crutches (3 months ago) and it is likely that I have to walk with crutches for the rest of my life.

Anyways, I'm sick quite often and I don't have that much time for my hobby.

Finally I have a letter from the doctor so I'm allowed to go to Belgium for some premium health care. Here, in the Netherlands, they... how to say it nice.. messed it up.

I hope that they can give me surgery, but there is a big chance that there goes something wrong and I can't stretch my leg anymore, and with that, I can't walk anymore.

This and other mental and physical problems have made it impossible for me to continue my "normal" life.

Anyways, I'll try to update sometimes about my condition.

Sorry, wel eh... I don't what to say, probably something like its all gonna be fine ones etc. But I'm not sure thats what you want to hear because it maybe sounds falls to you then. So, I'm just replying because I find of myself I have to, to let you know that I eh... 'Er iemand toch wat mee in zit' Because it's not funny to hear that someone has to give up his normal life for something like a Tumor. Something that is just... Bad luck.
Let's just hope everything is gonna be ok

I have been to another hospital in Belgium this week and we finally have made preparations for surgery.
The surgery will take some hours, and after the surgery I have to learn to walk with my right leg again.
I will have to rehabilitate for 6 months, and after that I will hopefully be free of the pain and all the miserable things that come with the tumor.

Oh.. 1 more thing, the insurance doesn't want to pay for the surgery (€3200),
so the surgery will be postponed until I have a solution

I had to wait for a long long time, until the insurance made their final decision.
And I'm not going to be operated in Belgium.

But... there is some good news, this wednesday I have an appointment in Rotterdam, and an expert will decide what to do.
It takes much and much to long.

I did lose almost 15 kilo's in weight due to stress etc.

Is the weight loss a good thing...? I'm guessing not. I'm sorry that you can't go to Belgium for the surgery. God be with that expert, and I hope some good news comes your way on Wednesday.

The weight loss is kinda a good thing for me, I always wanted to lose some weight .

I have been to another hospital today and because it is urgent the surgery will be as soon as Monday 22 November.
It isn't without risk as always, and one of the biggest risks is, as I said before, that I am not able to use my leg anymore.

The wait is hard, but hey I will be better after the surgery

What to do in the time after the surgery.. and idea's?

Paint a miniature? Read your favorite classic novels or books (I've got loads of suggestions, if you need any)? Um...if you retain your leg (and I hope you do!), jog or run daily?

I'm just back home, the surgery was about 1 hour,
but I had to stay longer because of the severe pain.

For now, the surgery succeeded,
but damn what a freaking pain I have. :O

The surgeon removed not one piece, but many pieces of bone from my knee.

Ouch, sounds painful.
Still, it's a step on the road to recovery - if, without a short time of pain, your life will be spent in discomfort, I'd go for the pain.
