OMG that army is getting HUGE!!!! I'm pretty sure it has overtaken mine now!!
Some very impressive work there, you have certainly been busy since your last update. I particularly like the wood elf captain.
Anyway, thankyou very much for posting this. My own army has been recieving very little attention lately besides a few models for the community WIP, and your photos are a massive inspiration, to myself and others i am sure. keep up the good work :yay:

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of photos, They Are COMING!!

Anyway, incredibly i just found out the "amazingness" of drybrushing my elven cloaks!

I don't want to redo my whole army because drybrushing the cloaks is very messy for all the other parts...

So, I was thinking, Will using blue tape(hardware tape used for sectioning off things while painting) work, because I want to section off the armor.

I think it will work..

Anyway can you please give me your insight and if you know an even better way of doing this job, PLEASE Tell ME!

I've found it to take paint off of other things I've done. Granted, that was on top of duct tape, but I still wouldn't risk it myself.

you painting mainiak! I can't beleive you've worked so fast on your army. I'm lucky if i painted 5 in a 2 months! I still have heeps of mini's to paint. Great work on them tho, keep it up.

anyway the reason for this post is this: I was just wondering if anybody has any news if Games Workshop is going to release any miniatures anytime soon??

I know this is the wrong section for this but I didn't want to open a new thread.

Sadly I don't think that they are. Not sure about December but January is more skaven and febuary is more blood angels. But anyway great work on all of the elves. Perhaps a full army shot?

pah, if they do they won't be elves. Why release all of the potentially awesome high elf knights and chariots when they can make a SECOND set of citadel guard?

GW confuse me sometimes.

nice painting again btw, wish i could paint half the speed you can. i have piles of galadhrim still to do and they're not going to be finished anytime soon. i would give you some if you were in the uk. :yay:

Well you asked for an army shot, and here it is!

3 companies of archers

Gildor's household, Gildor is converted

6 companies of Infantry

6 companies of Cavalry

well there you have it guys, my whole elven army up-til now!

for Christmas I will be getting 4 more companies of Infantry which means 2 more companies of archers, then 1 more company of the Guards! And probably something else :twisted:

, because I'm not sure after that.

hey all here's an update on my elves, I have been working on the highlights on the cloaks. I am pleased with the result so I will apply it to the rest of my army!

archers with captain

and their cloaks from a a back shot, if you noticed I weathered the bottom of the cloaks a little bit, drybrushing it Graveyard Earth.

here's the captain

steps for the cloak.
1. basecoat regal blue
2. badab black wash
3. Drybrush regal blue again
4. Drybrush enchanted blue
5. Pick out( by using thin straight lines) edges of cloak with 1:1 mix of regal blue and Astronmican Grey
6. Very thin highlight of Astronomican Grey on the tips of the edges.

here's four guys from the company

four Guards that are getting my drybrushing treatment. They were already painted up, so instead of redoing them, which you would have to when your drybrushing them, I used this special tape(don't ask me what kind, idk) and put it on the non-cloak area's, that way I can protect it when I'm drybrushing.

haldir and Gil-galad(still needs the very thin line highlighting treatment)

here are some finished Guards and a captain(aka Rumil)

and finally my work area, which you guys have been probably been wondering about??
the lamp is on top of the drawer

and the things i'm working on at the moment

anyway that's my update, I'll post some pics of the things I get during Christmas time.

Looks good the highlight definately make them better. Haldir still looks cool and the tape idea is clever. I first thought they were unpainted metal models
