Hello all, recently i started a piece of gondor wall, just to begin some siege terrain. Although it seemed i couldn't stop there, and i then began a trebuchet tower, and another, and now i am in the midst of building the gateway to Minas Tirith! :-D
So now i'll post a few pictures to give an impression of where i am right now .

Here is the first wall...

And the trebuchet tower...

This is one of the huge towers flanking the gates...

This is pretty much as far as i've gotten

And some detail shots

That's all for now, but please comment and stay posted for more! :)

Some very impressive stuff there, you've really managed to achieve the look from the movie! minus the background and that last photo could be a still from RoTK. :)
I'm curious as to how you paint the stonework, it looks very weathered and realistic and i have a few castle bits and pieces which need painting.
cheers and welcome to OR

Nice, great job on it. Could it be that u used a blue pen to make those stone carvings? At one of the pictures? :)

Some impressive work you have here. It has a nice worn feel, that it has seen hundreds of years. I take you did a black undercoat and then dry brushed? Are you going to be building all of Minas Tirith

Keep it up

Very nice work. The photo with the Gondor soldiers lined up on the wall brings the whole thing to life and looks very effective.

the stonework is just pink insulation foam, with a rock pressed into the surface which gave the piece a nice rough texture, i then basecoated it black and just drybrushed white with some acrylic paints :)

I don't think i'll do the whole thing but i anm thinking of at least getting to doing a section of the second level, including a ramp and a gate

Stay posted! If school doesn't interfere (too much) i'll probably have the gates started soon! :D

Good stuff - and you have more painted Gondorians available to man the walls. Keep building and target all goblins with extreme prejudice.

Your battlements of Minas Tirith are looking really nice, love the shot with the defenders lining the walls and the trebuchet mounted on the tower.... Excellent..

Looking very nice!
The colour-palette of the bricks looks great, white, yet not too white with black traces of dirt, just like in the movies!
Well done!

Just one thing, could you resize your pictures to about 650 pixels width?
As they are now, they are too big to stay within the screen, which makes it harder to see the full view and joy of the photo...

I agree with everyone else, it looks great! The colour you've achieved matches the films brilliantly and it's very nicely built. Good job Awesome Alex.
